Fraud Detection
A. Document & Identity Verification Issues
- Name Mismatch – Name on documents must match the name in the registration details.
- Edited/Tampered Documents – Blurry edges, inconsistent fonts, color patches, or alignment issues on Emirates ID, passports, or licenses.
- Fake EID or Passports – Non-standard formatting, missing chip imprint, altered MRZ (machine-readable zone), or no holograms.
- Unacceptable License Type– Udrive only accepts LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) licenses. Heavy vehicle, motorcycle, or taxi licenses are not permitted.
- Screenshots of Documents – Screenshots or scans of digital copies (especially from emails or messages) are not accepted. Only original images of physical documents are allowed.
- Documents Without Photos – Any driving license or ID without a visible photo of the customer is not accepted.
- Pictures Taken of a Screen – Pictures of documents displayed on another mobile device, tablet, or computer screen are not acceptable. The photo must be of the physical document itself.
- Expired Documents – All documents must be valid with at least 15 days before expiry.
- Recently Issued License Without Supporting Docs – Licenses less than 6 months old must be backed by a home country license over 1 year old.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Age & Eligibility Violations
- Underage Drivers – Customers must be 21+ years old to use Udrive. Even if the license is valid, the age restriction is non-negotiable.
- Nationalities Requiring IDP Not Submitting It – As per Udrive policy, tourists from specific countries must provide an International Driving Permit. Missing this is a compliance violation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C. Multi-Account or Device Sharing Issues
- Duplicate Registrations Using Same Documents or Images – Reuse of selfies, document images, or email/phone combinations across multiple accounts is fraudulent.
- Multiple Names on Linked Accounts – If several users register different names using the same device or number, it may indicate account sharing or fraud.
- Device ID Overlap with Suspended Accounts – If a new registration shares the same device fingerprint or IP as a banned/suspended user, it should be escalated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D. Payment & Usage-Related Red Flags
- Linked Accounts with Outstanding Invoices – Customer attempting to re-register under a new account while having unpaid balances on a previous one.
- Payment Funnel Bypass – Attempting to activate accounts without linking a valid payment card through the app is against policy.
- Use of Prepaid or Blocked Cards – Payment attempts using unsupported or suspicious cards (prepaid, region-locked, or declined multiple times).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E. Policy & T&C Violations Detected During Verification
- Trying to Use Udrive for Commercial Purposes – Udrive prohibits commercial use of vehicles. Watch for patterns indicating ride-sharing or deliveries.
- Off-Road or Cross-Border Intentions – If a customer shows interest in using the car off-road or outside UAE borders during registration or inquiry, it violates Udrive terms.
- Fake or Staged Selfies – Poor lighting, unmatched backgrounds, or mismatch between selfie and document photo can indicate fraud.
- False Claims in Registration Info – Falsifying nationality, residency, or license issuing country to bypass verification rules is a serious breach.
